Nigerian international Isaac Success arrested in England
Nigerian international Isaac Success who currently plays for Premier League club Watford has been arrested in England for one of the most embarrassing and career threatening reasons. The 21-year-old striker was arrested after reportedly demanding back the cash he had paid to four escorts. Isaac Success was said to have paid four hookers £2,000 for a hotel romp, but failed to score with any of them after drinking two bottles of Baileys and slept. Success who earns £30,000 a week was however arrested in the Hertfordshire hotel lobby after police were called following an allegation of assault as he demanded his money back. Meanwhile, Success was said to be later freed after thorough questioning by the police, but the matter is still been investigated.

FIFA Reveals Final Three Nominees for 2017 Puskas Award

Olivier Giroud's scorpion kick goal for Arsenal against Crystal Palace has been named as one of final three nominees for the 2017 FIFA Puskás Award. The French international was nominated along with Venezuela's Deyna Castellanos, whose kick off strike from the halfway line was voted the best goal of the U-17 Women's World Cup. A last minute scissors kick equalizer from Baroka FC’s goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke also made the final three list. The trio emerged as the front-runners from a shortlist of ten after votes from hundreds of thousands of fans were counted. The first round of voting concluded on Monday, and a second phase has now started to decide the winner. Voting will close on 23 October, when the winner will be announced on stage during a ceremony at the London Palladium. Previous winners of the Puskas award include Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, James Rodriguez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.


Another Defect Looms for Chelsea as Key Attacker Is Ruled out Of Weekend’s Premier League Clash.

Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has reportedly lost the battle to be fit for Chelsea's tough Premier League encounter at Crystal Palace on Saturday, October 14. The Spaniard had given many Chelsea fans some cheering news that he would be back for the Blues after the international break. But the injury has not healed as quickly as the player hoped and he is now setting his sights on returning for next week's Champions League match at home to Italian side Roma. Since Morata joined Chelsea from Spanish club Real Madrid, he has been superb for the Blues and has proved that he is capable of replacing Diego Costa who has joined Atletico Madrid. The hamstring injury Morata suffered has given Chelsea gaffer Antonio Conte serious headache as the Italian tactician is left with only Michy Batshuayi to parade up front.

Nigeria Super Eagles qualify for 2018 FIFA World cup.
The Super Eagles have qualified for the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia as they beat Zambia 1-0 at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday. A 73rd-minute goal from Alex Iwobi ensured that the Super Eagles would be at their record sixth appearance at the World Cup.
Odion Ighalo, who was the main striker was not clinically  in front of  the goal and a lot of chances were missed. A moment of brilliance however ensured that Iwobi scored. A lack of concentration by the Chipolopolo saw Iwobi with space and he put the ball in between the legs of goalkeeper Mweene. The Super Eagles have an unassailable 13 points.

South African Footballer Mlondi Dlamini Dies in Car Accident
South African Premier League side Maritzburg United have lost their star player Mlondi Dlamini who was involved in a car crash on Sunday, October 8, 2017. He was reportedly travelling through Cato Ridge in KwaZulu-Natal when tragedy struck with police informing the Premiership team of his untimely demise. The 20-year-old midfielder made a name for himself in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) where he was also nominated for the best player award at the end of last season.
"It is a very sad and devastating news as we received the call from the police at 07:30 pm. We will release a statement on Dlamini's death later”  Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia was reported to have said.
