Help! My husband of 3 years is gay

Marriage; is the merging of two bodies and souls into one. Even though marriage is not a bed of roses, but if the couple truly loves each other; they will strive to endure all the challenges that come with it. But what if one partner is gay or lesbian and there have never been any inclination to that? A young lady shared her devastating experience of having to find out that her husband whom she has been married to for 3 years was actually gay. Read her story below:

‘I got married to my husband in January 2013 in a well attended society wedding and all my singles friends wished they were in my shoes. My wedding was the talk of town as a lot of notable people attended the wedding. My husband is a very caring man who always made out time for me and my son. We did not lack anything. Every weekend, he hangs out with his friend; who was the best man at our wedding, while I and my son go and visit my mother-in-law. He also made sure that he performs his conjugal duties; and he has always been attentive to my sexual needs. So I had nothing to suspect, or believe that he could be involved in a gay relationship.

Then, one particular weekend, his friend came over to see him as usual and I left with my son to see his mother. On our way to Lekki (not real place) where she lives, the car broke down and I tried calling my husband to get the number of his mechanic because he always insists I call him whenever I have any challenge with the car. I called him severally and he did not answer his calls. I finally got the car repaired when I got another mechanic close by to fix the car. But I decided to drive back home since I wasted all my time trying to fix the car. On my way back home, I kept calling him but there was no response which really got me worried. Immediately I drove into the compound, I saw my husband seeing his friend off, and I angrily asked him why he didn’t pick my calls nor return them. He then explained that his phone was on silent mode and apologized. Since I knew he has never behaved such; I let the matter go and then went to prepare dinner.

He ate dinner and went straight to bed early that night, so I decided to close the door to his study. Then I noticed the portable camera we use when we are in the room together. I was so surprised and wondered why my husband chose to watch our video in his study. Another thought even crept in my mind and I thought will my husband show his friend our tape? I quickly shrugged it off and moved to put off the camera, when I saw a picture of two men in the mini view lens paused. I decided to play it and what I saw almost threw me off my feet; I almost fainted. It was my dear husband, the love of my life, the father of my cute son and the man I have spent many years with kissing and sleeping with his so called best friend. I just couldn’t bear what I was watching anymore, so I shouted and screamed his name to come. When he came, he thought something happened to me, but when he noticed the tape was playing, he was shocked. He told me that he has been gay all this while, but he decided to get married so his parents and other relatives would not suspect him.
All the while that he was talking to me; I felt like I was dreaming and I just wanted to wake up from this nightmare. But alas, it was all too real. He begged me not expose his secret because it will destroy him and also kill his parents. Since then, I have not been able to look him in the face or even share my emotions with him. He has been begging me but I do not think I can live this lie anymore. I am planning to file for a divorce because I don’t want my son to take after his father.

When it comes to the clearing of skin, lemon is supreme. It is one of the best ingredients that can be used to promote skin condition. Because the presence of citric acid in lemon helps keep the skin clear by removing dead cells. Also, its vitamin C content helps reduce dark spots by increasing the cell renewal process. Owing to the fact that lemon has bleaching properties that help improve the overall skin complexion, it is advisable for a dark person to use it rarely.
Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck and leave it for ten minutes: wash it with warm water afterward. To soften and moisturize the skin, rub the slices of cucumber all over your body. Do this every day for effective result. Apart from the above method, you can also squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix two tablespoons of raw honey in it. If you can do this twice a week, you will be surprised at the result.
2. Honey
Honey is not just a skin moisturizer; it is, in fact, a great skin moisturizer. It does not only improve the quality of your skin, it also helps in giving you a glowing and smooth skin. The antibacterial properties of honey make it possible for the clearing of skin impurities as well as the removal of skin infection. How can you use honey to improve the beauty of your skin?
Apply raw honey on your skin and let it dry; rinse it off with mild water. The water content in honey will make the skin soft and supple as it helps to moisturize it. Alternatively, you can also mix two teaspoons of milk and one teaspoon of honey. Add to the mixture one teaspoon of gram flour and mix them together.

3. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is known as earth plant and it is not only use to get flawless skin, but it is also good for the overall health of the body. It has antibacterial properties that help kill bacteria that cause acne.
It also has anti-inflammatory properties that help in the soothing of irritated skin, and astringent properties that help heal scars. In addition, aloe vera moisturizes the skin and stimulates new skin cell growth. Extract the gel from the aloe vera and use a cotton ball to apply the gel on your face. Let it dry for some time and then rinse it with mild water. Make sure you wash your hands after use, lest you won’t like the aftermath taste of the gel.
4. Coconut oil
When it comes to antioxidants that prevent free radical activity, which is one of the reasons behind dull and lifeless skin, coconut oil is king. It is also rich in antibacterial and antifungal properties that help maintain clear skin. Additionally, it helps to soften the skin as the oil permeates deep into underlying tissues of the skin. On how to apply the oil for a glowing skin, microwave the oil and apply it on your face, neck, hands and legs that is after you must have taken your bath. Massage gently into the skin for ten minutes; rinse it afterward with warm water.
5. Pawpaw
It is not without reason that pawpaw is refer to as the fruit of angels. Papaya, as it is also known, can not only be used to improve the texture of the skin, it can also help to maintain clear skin. Like lemon, papaya has natural bleaching properties that help reduce the appearance of scars. In addition, the enzyme papain that is present in it has antibacterial and wound healing abilities that help in the removal of dead damaged skin. Cut the pawpaw into small pieces and combine it will one teaspoon of sandalwood or honey. Mash it or blend it in a blend and apply to your face and neck.

In conclusion, you should be reminded that what you eat, is what you are. In other words, what you eat ultimately reflects on your body, especially your skin. Try as much as possible to eat food that can provide nutrients to your body, repair damaged tissues and improve the beauty of your skin.

Common beauty mistakes for your hair

When it comes to beauty, everyone   wants to be at their best. Now there are lots of common beauty mistakes for hair that people make unknown to them; which is actually not their fault.
1. Rubbing your hair with a towel: using a bath towel is considered the standard way to dry off the hair after washing, but this is totally wrong because basically this act is the short cut to the fastest route to breakage and frizz. So the best thing to do is use your hands to gently squeeze out the extra water in large section, then followed with a towel blotting and squeezing the hair rather than rubbing the towel on your hair.
2. Brushing your hair when it’s wet: your hair is more fragile when its wet which is why brushing or combing after washing is a No-No thing to do. It can compromise healthy hair and induce breakage.
3. Protecting your hair from the sun: if you value the health of your hair you will know that exposing it to the sun is a bad idea because the sun dries your scalp and makes it looks unhealthy.
4. Changing hair products: lots of women are never comfortable with one product they tend to change when their friends are using a new one. So changing hair products often damages your hair and you can never get good results for your hair

5. Hair dye: with the fashion and beauty thing going on these days, hair colouring is one thing women love doing which is not good or healthy for the hair. It breaks it and makes it loose its healthy look. So when next you want to think of dying your hair think twice and act wisely.

Common causes of Kidney failure

The kidneys are two bean shaped organs found on the left and right side of the human body. They are the body organs located high in the abdominal cavity which importance cannot be under estimated because they keep the composition or make up of the blood stable thereby enabling the body to function properly.
Kidneys may be small, but they perform many vital functions that help maintain the overall body health, including filtering waste and excess fluids from the blood. There are serious kidney diseases that may lead to complete kidney failure.
Some of the causes of kidney failure are as follows.

1. Loss of blood flow to the kidney: when blood stops flowing to your kidneys it can prompt kidney failure. There are diseases that cause loss of blood flow to the kidney like: heart attack, heart diseases, dehydration, severe burn, allergy and infection. Kidneys can fail as the side effects of some medications.

2. Urine elimination problems: the kidney helps to eliminate waste from our body.  When the body cannot eliminate urine, it builds up toxins which overload the kidneys
3. Alcohol and drugs: there is a lot of a drug that have effects on our kidneys; that is why it’s advisable to take drugs that are only prescribed by the doctor. Alcohol intake also causes kidney failure.

4. Infection: infections are caused by buildup of bacteria which usually starts with a bladder infection and spreads to the kidney. Infection can be gotten by anyone but women are more prone to it because a woman’s urethra is shorter than a man’s and it’s closer to the vagina and anus, where bacteria live. That means it’s easier for bacteria to get into a woman’s urethra; and once it does, it spread to the kidney as it is close to the bladder.

How many Eggs is Safe to eat in a Week

Eggs are a good choice of a healthy, balanced diet being it a source of protein, vitamins and minerals rolled into one. Eggs can be a part of a healthy meal that's quick and easy to make because they are considered one of the most nutritious foods on the planet.
For many decades, people have been advised to limit their consumption of eggs, or at least of egg yolk (the white is mostly protein and is low in cholesterol). Common recommendations include a maximum of 2-6 yolks per week. However, there is really not much scientific support for these limitations.
The situation that may warrant limiting egg consumption is if you have a heart disease or high cholesterol. This is necessitate lining the number of egg yolks you consume, and also take into account all the other forms of saturated fat in your diet. If you eat a lot of protein and fats throughout the day, then increasing fat consumption further with eggs will be a bad idea. But if you eat a balanced diet with plenty of low fat, vegetables, whole grains and lean meats as you should, then one to two eggs per day is probably a safe bet. So, your consumption of eggs in a week or day will depend solely on your diet.
You also need to look at the total diet you eat in a week; or in a day to determine where you are getting your saturated fat from.
According to a research by the American Heart Association/American College of cardiology Guidelines, in order to lower your LDL cholesterol, no more than 5 to 6 percent of your calories should come from saturated fat.
The way you prepare your eggs also matters a lot. Therefore, when you prepare eggs, you should pay attention to the way you cook them. If you fry them, the oil that you add is only going to contribute to your saturated fat for the day. If your health professional has told you to watch your cholesterol levels, your priority should be to cut down on saturated fat across your diet.
Even though there is no limitation to the number of eggs you should eat in a week, but your consumption depend solely on your health and diet.

A Visual Guide to Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis or MS is a chronic disease that damages the nerves in the spinal cord and brain, as well as the optic nerves. Sclerosis means scarring, and people with MS develop multiple areas of scar tissue in response to the nerve damage. Depending on where the damage occurs, symptoms may include problems with muscle control, balance, vision, or speech. Symptoms of MS include Weakness in an arm or leg numbness, loss of balance and muscle spasms.
These symptoms may lead to frequent tripping or difficulty in walking. More than half of people with MS experience a vision problem called optic neuritis. This inflammation of the optic nerve may cause blurred vision, loss of color vision, eye pain, or blindness, usually in one eye. The problem is usually temporary and tends to improve within a few weeks. In many cases, vision problems are the first sign of MS. Although less common than vision problems, some people with MS develop slurred speech.

This happens when MS damages the nerves that carry speech signals from the brain. Some people also have trouble swallowing.
MS can take a toll on mental sharpness. Some people may find it takes longer to solve problems. Others may have mild memory loss or trouble concentrating. Most people with MS also experience some loss of bladder control, because signals between the brain and bladder are interrupted. Finally, fatigue is a common problem. You may feel tired even after a good night’s sleep. In people with MS, the body’s own immune system attacks the tissue surrounding the nerve fibers in the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. This covering is made of a fatty substance called myelin. It insulates the nerves and helps them send electrical signals that control movement, speech, and other functions. When myelin is destroyed, scar tissue forms, and nerve messages are not transmitted properly.

What Causes MS? The roots of MS remain a mystery but doctors see some surprising trends. Research suggests a possible link between vitamin D deficiency and autoimmune disorders, but studies are ongoing. Genetics appear to play a role, as well.

Who Gets MS? According to research MS is at least twice as common in women as it is in men. While it can strike people of any race, Caucasians appear to be most at risk. The chances of developing the condition are highest between ages 20 and 50. Tests are often used, along with a medical history and neurological exam, to diagnose MS and rule out other causes of symptoms. More than 90% of people with MS have scar tissue that shows up on an MRI scan. A spinal tap can check for abnormalities in the fluid that bathes the brain and spinal cord. Tests to look at electrical activity of nerves can also help with diagnosis. Lab tests can help rule out other autoimmune conditions or infections such as HIV or Lyme disease. Research suggests that the disease may be more active during the summer months. Heat and high humidity may also temporarily worsen symptoms. Very cold temperatures and sudden changes in temperature may aggravate symptoms, as well.

While there is no cure for MS, there are “disease-modifying drugs” that can reduce the frequency and severity of MS attacks which  result in less   damage to the brain and spinal cord over time, slowing the progression of disability. When an attack does occur, high-dose corticosteroids can help cut it short. Many drugs are also available to manage troubling MS symptoms, such as muscle spasms, incontinence, and pain. Making a few changes around the home can help you manage daily activities on your own. Install grab bars inside and outside the shower or tub. Use a non-slip mat. Add an elevated seat and safety rails to the toilet. Lower one of your kitchen counters so you can reach it from a sitting position. And get rid of any throw rugs, which are a tripping hazard.
Exercise can ease stiffness, fatigue, and other symptoms of MS. But overdoing it could make things worse. It’s best to start slowly. Try exercising for 10 minutes at a time, then gradually working your way up to a longer session. Before you begin, check with your doctor about what type of activity and level of intensity would be most appropriate. A few possibilities include water aerobics, swimming, tai chi, and yoga.

Most people with MS live a normal or near-normal lifespan. While the condition may make it more difficult to get around or complete certain tasks, it doesn’t always lead to severe disability. Thanks to effective medications, rehab therapies, and assistive devices, many people with MS remain active, stay in their jobs, and continue to enjoy their families and favourite activities.
