#WOMANCRUSHWEDNESDAY



Today on woman crush Wednesday we will be crushing on Barrister Zainab Marwa-Abubakar.

Barrister Zainab was born on the 8th of April 1981 in Bauchi State, Nigeria to Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (RTD) and his wife Mrs Zainab Buba Marwa.

Barrister Zainab hails from Adamawa state; she is a dedicated mother of 4 remarkable children and a wife to her soul mate, Dr Abdulkadir Abubakar, who shares her passion for service to humanity.

At the tender age of 19, Zainab graduated with honors from the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom with a degree in Law and an MSc in service Management.

Barrister Zainab was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004. She completed her NYSC where she served as a teacher and then went on to work in one of the foremost consulting firms in Nigeria.


Barrister Zainab served in the presidency in SERVICOM in a triple capacity as the Special Assistant to the National Coordinator of SERVICOM, as a training consultant for Government MDAs for the SERVICOM institute run by DFID where she ran over 60 workshops for vast MDAs and as the Head of the complaints Department of all SERVICOM units nationwide which she built from scratch.

Barrister Zainab Marwa-Abubakar is immensely passionate about service to God and mankind, which has given rise to her starting a Non Governmental Organization.

Her NGOs track record centers on expansion initiatives to raise funds in seeking to cater for the less fortunate, bring relief to those in need, reinitiate peace through interfaith and cultural dialogue, knowledge sharing and ultimately improving the quality of life of mankind.


She is currently in the process of embarking on a PHD in Disaster Management at the University of Salford in the United Kingdom. Her thesis is on Gender Responsive Recovery for sustainable peace; the Role of women in post conflict reconstruction.

Zainab aims to design a framework that would outline the effective and efficient inclusion of women in the peace process of Nigeria.
