What Does Makeup Do?

The 21^st century has brought about so many changes and one of them happens to be “makeup”. Makeup is so much in vogue now to the extent that finding a face without makeup is quite hard. One way or the other, women can’t seem to do without makeup. It has become a daily routine. Now the question to be asked is what does makeup really do? Does it empower women or does it hide their natural beauty? To an extent, it does empower women, i.e. it boots their confidence, it covers any flaws on their faces and gives them the flawless look they need and enhances their beauty; but in another sense, this need for makeup has become an obsession for many who can’t do without makeup. They totally feel nude without makeup, thereby forgetting their natural selves.

When clearly observed, it can be said that the main objective or aim of wearing makeup has been disregarded. God created each and every one of us beautiful in our own ways, and the need to apply all the foundation, concealer, primer, etc. every day is totally not necessary. It has gotten to a point that when one isn’t wearing these makeups, the person will look completely different from oneself and this is really not a good thing because, all these makeups that are being used will affect the skin adversely in the future.

In conclusion, natural beauty is something to be proud of because it defines who you really are. Also, no one is perfect, so with or without makeup, women will always be beautiful. It only depends on how we portray ourselves.
