Good Foods for Beautiful Skin

In their quest to achieve that beautiful and glowing skin we all desire, most women can go the extra mile. As a matter of fact, a lot of people end up buying beauty products that destroy their skin. Personally, I have been a victim of destructive beauty products that left my skin worse than before the use of such beauty products.  Most times, a lot of us believe that the price of a product determines the effectiveness of that product. But I will say I disagree. In fact, we tend to neglect the vital things which we are supposed to do, that is, eating a well-balanced and nourishing meal to help our body rejuvenate from its bad shape. I’m sure most of us are tired of using different expensive and ineffective beauty products. It’s time to throw away all those ineffective products and start eating good foods for perfect skin. I went from terrible acne, five months ago, to not having acne now. It was hard, but it was possible, and less expensive than turning to pricey products. While some foods can aggravate your skin, others can enhance it. Check out the list below for foods to eat every day for perfect skin.

Bell peppers (Tatashe)

Bell peppers are tasty vegetables that can be enjoyed either cooked or raw. One red bell pepper contains more than 100per cent of your daily vitamin C needs. They are rich in vitamins and contain significant amounts of dietary fibre. Red bell peppers are important and contain more of vitamin C, which powers up your immune system and keeps your skin youthful. In addition, it is rich in ‘carotenoids’’ which help to prevent wrinkles and increase blood circulation to the skin, helping it look youthful and healthy. Due to their carotenoids, red bell peppers are especially great in fighting acne. A red bell pepper is a perfect, low calorie snack that contains wholesome calorie fibres that will help you feel full longer. Plus, you will have a flawless skin. Meanwhile, don’t forget that higher cooking can damage some of the vital nutrients in bell peppers.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is one of the richest sources of saturated fat with about 90 per cent of calories. It contains a powerful antibacterial and antiviral agent that keeps away viruses, infections, inflammation and acne. Coconut oil is also rich in essential Vitamin E, which is perfect for keeping your skin moist, soft and wrinkle-free. I use coconut oil as a body cream or hair cream. Rubbing raw coconut oil every day is a wonderful natural way to make your skin soft, radiant and healthy. You can use coconut oil to reduce the appearance of scars on your skin. When you rub an adequate amount of this oil over the scar, like 2 to 3 times daily, you will see the scar reducing in size and blending in with your skin. Coconut oil is especially good for your thyroid. Plus, there’s considerable evidence that this oil can help when you want to lose weight. So much health benefits, don’t you think?

Spinach/vegetables

Green leafy vegetables like Ugu leaf, pumpkin leaf, spinach, etc. are healthy, nutritious and rich food you should certainly include in your everyday diet. Don’t hate these vegetables because they are a wonderful source of iron, chlorophyll, Vitamin E, magnesium, Vitamin A, plant protein, and Vitamin C. They have antioxidant abilities.  Vitamins C, E, and A especially are great for your skin. These vegetables contain antioxidants that fight against different types of skin problems. Add it to your everyday diet and see the magic that will happen to your skin. By eating them, just be sure you’re just cleaning your skin from the inside out.

Pawpaw

Known as Papaya, pawpaw is a wonderful fruit which has for a long time, had a rich history and numerous nutritional benefits. It is very low in calories and contains no cholesterol. So if you are trying to lose weight, consider eating pawpaw every day to maximize its health benefits. A great beauty food, pawpaw helps in excellent digestion. The nutrients found in it, includes Vitamins C and E and beta-carotene, which are great at reducing inflammation and acne. More so, Vitamin C also protects your skin against sun damage.

Carrots

One thing I am certain of is that carrots are a good medicine for a beautiful skin. They are not only good for the eyes, but also for your skin. They are especially good for clearing up breakouts. Carrots are rich in vitamin A and they help prevent the overproduction of cells in the outer layer of the skin. There are a lot of carrots beauty products in the market, but it is advisable to eat carrots raw or cooked for a better result. The presence of Vitamin A in carrots reduces the development of skin-cancer cells. So make sure you consume a whole lot of carrots every day for perfect skin. I never used to like carrots though, but for all the good benefits, who wouldn’t? I love carrots now and I think they make a great food. You don’t have to eat all these foods every day, but even some of them would be great! Be sure to avoid junk foods, too much sugar and refined carbohydrates for the best skin you desire. When you eat the correct type of food you will give your skin the vital nutrients it needs to make it glow.

 Water

Our skin needs moisture in order for it to stay flexible. The issue of drinking water is very important to our health and cannot be over emphasized. Water has a lot of benefits that we stand to gain. Dehydration can cause the skin to look dry, tired and slightly grey in colour. It is said that we should drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day to keep our skin hydrated and leaving it moist and beautiful. Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, for these will age your skin, making you look older than your real age.
