The clothes that one wears always leave an impression on the people that view them. A good rule is that formal attires should be worn for formal occasion and informal attires should be worn for informal occasion. A good number of times, a request to a cocktail or a dinner party will specify whether the event calls for formal, semi – formal or informal attires. At all times, one must be prepared to dress correctly for any occasion; one must take dress and appearance into great consideration in order to feel comfortable.

  •  Formal clothing must be for a very fine evening. Do not feel ashamed to ask what kind of attire is expected at an event if not mentioned in an invitation. If the host is unreachable, try to talk with someone participating in the event. Remember, it is a guest’s duty to come prepared. Consider wearing clothing that can be dressed up or dressed down. For the guys, if overdressed in a suit and tie, it can be easily converted to semi-formal with the removal of the tie and opening of the shirt. If underdressed, there surely will not be another properly fitted jacket freely available. This is why it is better to overdress than “underdress”,

  •  Semi–formal clothing could be for a cocktail and business. Nevertheless, the most important thing to remember is to make the overall look appear modest and tasteful while expressing your unique style. By keeping in mind these pointers, you can make sure that you will not be under or overdressed for that important event.

  •  Informal clothing could be a comfortable jeans/pant with a top and flow smart gown.

  •  For a business job interview, it is proper to wear something conservative and non–revealing.

  • Funeral attires consist of dark colored clothing; they are meant to be black, navy or charcoal gray.

  • Never wear more than four colors combined.

  • When you wear the same colour top and bottom, it has to be an exact match especially when it comes to black and navy.

  • Your belt, handbag, tie, shoes colours must coordinate.

  •  In a business setting, do not take your jacket off unless you are compelled to do so.

  • Too sexy clothes should not be worn to the office.

  • Ladies, your bag must be appropriate for the office.

  • Lacy shoes are meant for suits.

  • Never wear ankle chains to the office, they are meant for Owambe parties.
