A bead is a small, decorative object that is formed in a variety of shapes and sizes of a material such as stone, bone, shell, glass, plastic, wood or pearl and that is pierced for threading or stringing. Before now, coral beads (traditional beads) are used basically as a symbol of royalty or wealth but in our today’s fashion world it is largely used for beautification. 

Today, beads are making tremendous fashion statements. If you are fashionable, you must have noticed the bead trend. Beads, which have for ages have been part of fashion in our traditional societies, have today taken a new turn, which is not only commendable, but also beautiful.

Beads can be worn on a wide variety of clothes, ranging from English wears to native wears, but it is more predominant in native wears. With bead-making, you can string beads together to make assorted fashion jewelry such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets, purses, handbags, belts, flower vases, etc.

Beads have now been used in weddings, traditional engagement and other ceremonies. It could be used for adornment such as the waist, neck, or ankle beads or as decorative ornament in art works or even for royalty purposes.

Beads are a prized possession and should be found in every fashionable male and female wardrobe today. They are not only colourful and affordable, but are also durable. Beads do not fade and they can stand the test of time.
