Kind hearted, generous, eloquent,
polished, humble, intelligent, well spoken, a mentor, a role model and many
more positive adjectives may not be enough to describe the wife of the President,
Mrs. Aisha Buhari, who is working tirelessly to restore meaning to the life of
the less privileged. She had used her personal and official influence to reach
out to the internally displaced people (IDPs) who are victims of the insurgency
in the North-eastern part of the country, precisely known as Borno, Yobe and
some parts of Adamawa. She had been working on rebuilding towns and villages
destroyed by the terrorists. She was also being celebrated by many for
championing good projects that emanate from other women. So far, through
various projects, she has impacted on the lives of women, children and families.
She has a very soft disposition and has been playing the role of peacemaker in
strengthening many complicated situations.
Mrs Buhari is the champion and
advocate for women liberation and child’s right. She has discouraged child
marriage in many of her speeches, encouraging parents to send their daughters
to school. She has participated in various charity activities, visiting
orphanages, hospitals, caring for society’s downtrodden, etc. It should finally be noted that, like her
husband, is she has zero tolerance for corruption. Her love for children makes
her to urge the APC to fulfil its promise of giving school children one free
meal a day.
