It’s so easy to take our feet for granted, most of us care little or nothing about our feet like they’re just there, putting up with a host of challenges, from being jammed into high heels, tight covered shoes, sweaty socks or tight leather pantyhose. Our feet are often the most used part of the body with all the walking and running that they have to do every day. Yet when it comes to our health and beauty routines, our feet are often neglected. No matter what the season is, it is always important to keep your feet in tip-top condition. Learn how to care for your feet by having a good hygiene, pampering them to heal soreness and callouses and getting medical attention when necessary.
Practicing Good Feet Hygiene
1. Wash your feet daily: feet tend to get dirty and sweaty than other parts of the body. So it’s important to have good clean habits. If you take your showers in the morning and not at night try and make feet washing a part of your night routine when you get home. Aside from practising a good hygiene it stops you from carrying dirt into your bed. You can use soap and warm water it will clean the sweat, dirt and bacteria.
2. Moisturize your feet everyday: one way to achieve soft moisture feet is to rub on some lotion or Vaseline before bed, and put on some socks. When you wake up in the morning your feet will be soft and free from dryness.
3. Avoid putting on dirty and smelling sock: some men are lazy when it comes to sock washing. Always ensure that your sock is clean at all times to prevent bacteria building up on your feet.
4. Avoid putting on tight shoes: tight shoes are actually not good for your feet as it compresses it, makes it sour and damages toe nails. A lot of us are guilty of this because once in a while we tend to see beautiful shoes that are not our size. But we can’t let it go, so we buy it and force our legs in it hoping it would enlarge with constant wearing. Well, you are actually killing your feet.
5. Pedicure: Giving your feet a pedicure at least every two weeks it’s not a most. You do not need to have your pedicure professionally done in a salon, with a few tools you can actually do your own pedicure right in your own home.
6. Avoid walking barefooted: avoid exposing your legs even at home. While inside the house get a clean free slippers that you can put on within the house to avoid sharp objects pricking and getting your feet hurt.
