The House of
Representatives has on Wednesday asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC) to look into the fraudulent promoters of Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox popularly
known as MMM and get them arrested.
Mr. Saheed
Fijabi, the Chairman, House Committee on
Telecommunications had in a motion drawn the attention of lawmakers to
the growing popularity of the scheme report Punch. He also said that the fact
MMM was not regulated nor approved but law or CBN as a secured business venture
made Nigerians more vulnerable.
The scheme
entered into the Nigerian circle in 2016, and it will be recalled that CBN
warned Nigerians against getting involved labelling it a fraud. MMM is a scheme
that promises patronizing customers 30% increase on whatever amount they
invest.
