Chelsea legend Drogba to call it quit on his football career

Former Chelsea and Ivorian striker Didier Drogba is ready to bring his illustrious football career to an end in 2018. Drogba spent most of the successful period of his career at Chelsea winning four league tiles, three League Cups, four FA cup titles and a Champion’s League title. After leaving Montreal Impact following the end of the 2016 Major League Soccer season, Drogba became the first player/owner in the history of the game when he took over United Soccer League outfit Phoenix Rising FC in 2017. Rising in America's USL where he also owns a stake in the club, has revealed that he is to hang up his boots at the end of the current campaign. Drogba made 381 appearances for Chelsea across two spells, scoring 164 times in the process. Speaking to RMC Sport, Drogba said: "Ah, do you want a scoop? I think next year will be my last season. "At some point you have to stop. I need to have time for my other projects." He added: "It's good to play, but at 39, it holds me back a bit."
Drogba is reportedly aiming to follow in David Beckham's footsteps and attempt to launch his own MLS franchise. Drogba has been playing for Phoenix since the turn of the year, where he has scored 10 times in 14 appearances. He left Chelsea in the summer of 2015 to move to America and spent two seasons with Montreal Impact in the MLS. Drogba also has Turkish Super Lig, Super Cup and Turkish Cup honours to his name with Galatasaray.

We played a new system against Argentina - Mikel Obi
Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria John Obi Mikel has reacted to their incredible win over Argentina in an international friendly match played in Russia. The Super Eagles had to come back from two goals down to beat the South Americans on Tuesday night, November 14, 2017. Mikel who played all minutes in the game admitted that the Super Eagles struggled in the first half, but played a new system in the second half for them to win the match. He said; “We played a new system today which we never played before so we struggled to find our feet in the first half but at the break, the coach spoke to us and we corrected our mistakes which helped us to fight back. Our team is still a work in progress.”
Head coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr also stated clearly that he was happy that his wards came back from two goals down to beat Argentina. He said; it’s good victory for us but it doesn’t mean we’ve become favorites to win the World Cup. We stay humble & realize we have more work to do. We prepared well for this game because playing with Argentina is big for us even though it may be different for them.
Why I decided against Hull City move - Ahmed Musa
Super Eagles attacker Ahmed Musa has revealed why he snubbed a move to Hull City that would have seen him reunite with former boss Leonid Slutsky. Musa, 25, revealed that he was unwilling to drop to the English Championship to join Hull City despite showing interest in playing for Leonid Slutsky. The Nigeria winger has been on the periphery at Leicester City, and confirmed speculations about why he
opted against reuniting with his former manager. Talks broke down on deadline day as the Tigers were hopeful of landing the 24-year-old speedster who instead stayed at the King Power Stadium, unwilling to sacrifice top-flight football.
 “Slutsky for me is a father. And we are always in touch, we communicate warmly,” Musa told Sport Express. “He has always helped me to feel confident, to believe in my strength. And he really called me to his team. I just cannot tell him ‘no’. Perhaps in the near future again I will play for his team. “[Hull City playing in the Championship] is the problem. It is for this reason that it's hard for
me to decide." Since deciding to fight for his place at Leicester City, Musa’s
situation has not improved as his only league appearance has come for
the Foxes’ U23 side.
