Are
you suffering from a serious sleep shortage? Eating the right foods can help
regulate your sleep cycle. Foods that contain mostly magnesium and potassium
are good for the body and can help you naturally to induce sleep.Resorting to
over the counter medication to help you fall asleep at night can be expensive
as well as unnatural to your body. But the
good news is that there are some natural inducers that can help you get some good
sleep.
MUSIC:
Clinical studies and evidence from
music therapists suggest that the sound of music manages pain, improves good mood
and mobility of people with Parkinson’s disease. Music also reduces the need
for sedatives and pain reliever during and after surgery; it also relieves anxiety
and lowers blood pressure. More so, it
eases depression and enhances concentration and creativity.
BANANA:
If you are already eating bananas
on a regular basis then good for you. If you are not, then you might want to
reconsider that. Bananas are filled with magnesium which is a muscle relaxant, and
potassium; these are two essential vitamins your body needs for muscles
relaxation. Additionally, bananas contain an amino-acid tryptophan, which the
body later converts into serotonin and melatonin.
FISH:
As a good source of protein, fish can
be helpful when it comes to regulating your sleep cycle for two reasons.
Firstly, fish contains a lot of vitamin B6 which is critical for your body to
produce melatonin. Secondly, fish contains plenty of tryptophan which, as
mentioned previously, the body converts into hormones that are needed to induce
sleep.
Almonds:
Almonds, popularly called fruit are
an excellent source of calcium, which helps the brain produce melatonin.
Almonds also contain magnesium, which promotes muscles relaxation and in aiding
a fine sleep. You can also eat almonds to supplement your daily nutritional
requirement for vitamin A, D, and E, and minerals like calcium, magnesium and
iron.
Spinach:
similar to bananas, spinach contains
heaps of potassium and magnesium. Additionally, spinach contains calcium which
helps the body produce melatonin and regulates the sleep cycle. You should also
know that you may not substitute calcium supplements to avoid spinach. Besides,
it has already been scientifically proven that Popeye diet was extremely
healthy
It
is advisable to increase intake of foods high in tryptophan. An amino acid and
an essential chemical, tryptophan helps to build protein in the body. It is
found in such foods as meat, fish, greens, and eggs. Consuming tryptophan late
in the day will release melatonin and serotonin for good sleep. It speeds up
the onset of sleep, decreases the level of spontaneous awakenings during your
sleep, and also helps to increase the amount of refreshing sleep you get. It is
always recommended that you consume a main meal about few hours prior to bed
time that consists of complex carbohydrates and foods rich in tryptophan.
