The husband of ex-Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission, EFCC, Farida Waziri, Senator Ajuji Waziri, is dead. He was a former
Nigerian ambassador to Turkey.
According to report, Senator Waziri was said to have died on
Easter Monday after a brief illness. Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has
commiserated with his family and friends. The message was issued yesterday by
the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina. President
Buhari in his message noted that Waziri worked hard to improve the conditions
of his community and the country, as a public servant, who served in many
capacities.
The
President extolled the humanity, integrity and purposefulness that Waziri
brought into all his responsibilities. According to him, Waziri’s wise
counsels, insight and forthrightness will be sorely missed. Buhari sympathized
with his wife, former EFCC boss, Farida Waziri, the children, and the
government and people of Gombe State. He prayed God to receive his soul and
grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
