HONOURABLE AHMED YERIMA EMPOWERS 150,000 MEMBERS OF HIS CONSTITUENCY

Ahmed Yerima is the honourable member of the House of Representatives, representing Misau/Dabam Federal Constituency of Bauchi State. He recently empowered one hundred and fifty thousand (150,000) members of his constituency with cash grant of N15, 000 each. Beneficiaries were mostly women petty traders and some men who engage in various activities to eke out a living: craftsmen and women, Akara and Masa sellers, makers of native soaps, etc. The grant was to help boost the beneficiaries’ means of livelihood.  Communities’ elders within the federal constituency and trade union leaders supervised the selection of the beneficiaries to ensure that the grants reached the appropriate persons. Honourable Yerima stressed the fact that the grant cut across party divide; members of the constituency irrespective of party affiliation benefited equally. He also pointed out the fact that honourable members of the House of Representatives do not have budgetary allocations for community projects.

In effect, what he has done was out of his personal pocket to support his people. He promised to continue to do more for his people from his limited personal resources, while calling on those saddled with the responsibility of developing the community with appropriate budgetary allocations to rise up to their responsibilities.

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) staff members were there to witness the occasion and give their moral support and advice on the way forward. Also present were some party stalwarts including Rt. Yakubu Dogara (Speaker of the House of Representatives), His Exc. Alh. Nuhu Gidado (Deputy Gov. Bauchi State), Hon. Haliru Jika, Hon. Magaji Dau and Senator Moh’d A. Moh’d.  HRH Emir Suleman (mni) the royal father of Misau , Alh.Uba Nana (Bauchi State chairman of the APC) as well as Alh. Danladi Ari (Chairman of APC, Misau) among other dignitaries, also graced the occasion.

As usual, Tozali crew was there to capture the enthralling moments.
