Joke silva is a Nigerian actress, director and businesswoman. A graduate of the university of Lagos and Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, she began a career in film in the early 1990s, amazingly she was an adopted child of the Silva family.
She was adopted decades ago from a foster home run by the Red Cross in Lagos. Joke Silva remains one of Nigerians most successful actresses. She has featured in over 300 Nigerian movies.
Joke Silva is married to Veteran actor, Olu Jacobs and they have two children. The couple met in 1981 at the National Theater, Lagos during the 21st Independence Anniversary.
Let’s not forget to mention that, Joke Silva Jacobs has a number of Awards to her credit which includes Best Actress in a leading role at the 2nd Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2006 for the movie women’s cot. She worn the award for the Best supporting actress for her role in the movie “White waters” at the 4th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2008.
